> Code 12 - Incorrect Transaction Code

The payment was declined by the buyer's bank due to reason 12 - Incorrect Transaction Code.

This is a generic code used by banks that does not specify the exact nature of the decline.

  • The buyer may have incorrectly entered their card number, used an incorrect verification code, entered an invalid expiration date, etc.
  • The transaction is associated with a recurring payment (Subscription), payment type that is not authorized for the used card.

Unfortunately, we have no additional information about the reason for the decline.

What can you do?

  • Ask the buyer to contact their bank for more information about the reason for the decline.
  • Ask the buyer to try the payment again in a few hours, ensuring the information entered is correct.
  • Ask the buyer to use a different payment method.
